Young learner courses
Select English offers a range of summer courses for young students, including the popular Cambridge Junior course for students aged 13-17 and our courses at Culford school for students aged 10-13 and 13-16.
Our permanent school buildings are in central Cambridge, close to the magnificent University of Cambridge Botanical Garden and the historic colleges of the university. Our courses at Culford school take place in one of the most beautiful boarding schools in England.
Engaging activity programmes
Our activity programmes allow students to visit University of Cambridge colleges, try punting on the River Cam or join excursions to get to know other UK cities such as London.
Study in a University of Cambridge College
During July and August, we offer the opportunity to live and study at Magdalene College, which sits right on banks of the River Cam and is one of the loveliest of all the colleges in Cambridge.
Good Quality Accommodation
Stay in our own comfortable, conveniently located residential accommodation – or in one of our carefully chosen and inspected homestays in Cambridge.
We have a full-time Accommodation Officer, a Welfare Officer responsible for student welfare, and a 24-hour emergency phone number so that students can always contact a senior member of the school management team should the need arise.
Free airport transfers
On our summer courses we offer free airport transfers for most students – view the transfer details on each course page for more information.
We are an official UKVI visa sponsor, allowing us to provide full support for all students’ visa applications.
Cambridge is globally recognised as a hub of international education and English language learning, making it a great place for students to study.
It’s a small city of just over 100,000 people so it’s quick and convenient to move around; it’s very safe and has a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere.
Thanks to the great number of cultural and historical points of interest, in Cambridge you will never have a dull moment. You can take tours around the university buildings or enjoy some time in a cafe. If you like to shop, head to the Grand Arcade or walk around the charming streets that surround it. Try punting on the River Cam for a real Cambridge experience. There are also plenty of green areas where you can play sports or just relax.
Cambridge is close to other major cities and sights. London is only a short 45 minute train journey away. Heathrow and Stansted airport are just 1.5 hours and 30 minutes from Cambridge respectively.
